Wayne L. Paulson Environmental Engineering Scholarship

Endowed scholarship in the name of Wayne L. Paulson, UI Engineering faculty emeritus and member of the Legacy of Iowa Engineering. Awarded to a Civil & Environmental Engineering student with an interest in environmental studies and in pursuing a career in the Environmental Engineering profession. Additional selection considerations include quality of academic performance, participation in extracurricular activities and interests in community service and public programs to enhance environmental quality. Howard R. Green Company

A scholarship funded by Howard R. Green Company, Cedar Rapids, IA. Awarded to a student in junior or senior status pursuing a Bachelors Degree in civil or environmental engineering with a GPA of 3.0 or higher. Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship. Preference will be given to students who have participated in engineering student organizations and are seeking employment in Iowa post graduation. For more information, go to

Stanley Consultants Charitable Foundation

A scholarship funded by The Stanley Foundation in conjunction with Stanley Consultants, Inc., Muscatine, IA. Awarded to a student with junior status who has a strong inclination toward a career in the field of consulting engineering; and majoring in chemical, mechanical, electrical, civil or environmental engineering. Must display leadership skills such as positions held in the classroom or outside activities including student and community organizations, volunteerism, paid jobs during school, etc. Must display strong academic performance, a 3.0 GPA or better in their engineering major.  In the case of equally qualified candidates, financial need and female/minority status will be given consideration. Transatlantic Renewable Energy Fellowship (TREF)

A unique opportunity for students and young professionals with experience in environmental and energy fields to gain three to six months of work experience in Germany. In conjunction with the Transatlantic Climate Bridge, this prestigious fellowship is designed to build an international network of future leaders in renewable energy and environmental fields as well as to increase transatlantic cooperation on climate and energy issues. As part of the Transatlantic Climate Bridge, fellows will receive international on-the-job training in an array of renewable energy fields while learning about policies, technologies, and strategies in both Germany and the United States. Internships are customized to each fellow’s area of expertise and will be with renewable energy providers, manufacturers, consultants, and trade associations. For more information, go to
